At the heart of the design is Calacatta Viola marble-effect porcelain, selected for its dramatic veining and warm burgundy tones. Rather than using the pattern throughout the entire room, it was introduced as a feature finish within the shower area, creating a strong focal point without overwhelming the space in blackfield.
The remaining surfaces were kept soft and neutral, allowing the Calacatta detailing to take centre stage. A deep burgundy bespoke vanity unit was chosen to pick up the warmer tones within the marble, while brushed black fittings and accessories introduce contrast and give the scheme a clean, contemporary edge.
Curved forms, including the freestanding bath and illuminated mirror cabinet, soften the stronger architectural lines and help create a more relaxed, balanced feel.
The bathroom was carefully planned around the needs of the clients, with the layout designed to accommodate both a walk-in shower and freestanding bath while maintaining a comfortable sense of space.
The specification included a bespoke vanity unit with basin, wall-mounted WC, black basin and bath taps, an electric shower, glass shower enclosure, illuminated mirror cabinet and a contemporary black radiator. Accessories and finishing details were selected as part of the overall scheme to ensure consistency throughout.
The project began with a clear design concept and a carefully curated material and product palette. Each element was selected not only for its appearance, but for how it would work alongside the other finishes and function within the room.
The finished bathroom brings together statement marble, warm neutral surfaces, rich colour and contemporary black detailing in a cohesive scheme. The result is an elegant yet practical bathroom that feels luxurious without being overly formal — a space designed for everyday use and to remain visually relevant for years to come.”
